we are monitoring the commuter problems on the metro red line after a fire on the track forces a station to be evacuated. this happened at the bethesda metro station. metro spokesperson says that an insulator started the fire. the station did reopen after about an hour. no one was injured. also, the transit agency is cracking down on robberies. thieves have a specific target. we have the word on what they're looking for pure >> these crimes are occurring on board -- looking for. >> these crimes are occurring on board the metric chains. they make good on their escaped just in the nick of time. >> a blackberry or an ipod. there is an alarming climb trend.

>> some volunteer firefighters are in big trouble in montgomery county after police say they were caught trying to steal some fire equipment. this stems from an incident in rockville. >> this is the main warehouse for montgomery's firefighters. they have expensive gear. at midnight, an alarm went off. when authorities arrived, they found three suspects and three volunteer firefighters. the work goes on on a rainy night like this for engine co. 3. >> this should not happen. >> even as a dozen of the company's firefighter volunteers
